Friendster kini dalam Bahasa Malaysia

Tidak lama dulu friendster mengistiharkan penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia dalam portalnya, kini tiba giliran Malaysia apabila Bahasa Melayu digunakan juga dalam komuniti tersebut. Bagi mereka yang tidak biasa dengan peralihan istilah yang digunakan, agak janggal atau lucu rasanya. Disamping itu kadangkala term yang digunakan tidak diketahui kerana sudah biasa dengan istilah bahasa Inggerianya.

To date, Friendster still the number one online social network in Asia-Pacific. In an article released by comScore, users from Asia-Pacific spent approximately 90 million hours on Friendster barely in August last year, as shown in the picture below. Meanwhile, they also released another report recently, stated that Friendster in Indonesia has over 8 million registered users and 4 million monthly unique visitors as of February this year.

Friendster now supports 9 of the top languages on the Internet – Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Indonesian, Malaysian, Vietnamese and English. These languages represent 66 percent of the world’s Internet users, or approximately three quarters of a billion Internet users in total.

As the 12th largest Web site in the world based on traffic and the #1 online social network in Asia, according to comScore Media Metrix, supporting both Japanese and Korean will help Friendster maintain and extend its leadership position in Asia.
